Flow is Google Labs' AI filmmaking studio. It generates the scenes with Veo 3.1 and puts those scenes in sequence, which makes it more of a story editor than a generator of loose clips.

There are three ways to generate: from text, describing subject, action, setting, light and style; from two frames, uploading the first and last image so it creates the transition; and from ingredients, uploading references of character, object, style and even voice to keep everything consistent from one clip to the next.

Once generated, Extend continues the action from the last second and takes the clip to a minute or more. Insert adds something to the scene, redoing shadow and light, and Remove takes something out and rebuilds the background. Scenebuilder puts the clips in order, trims the start and end of each one and downloads the whole sequence.

Veo 3.1 generates audio in every mode, there is upscaling to 1080p and 4K, and every output carries Google's invisible SynthID watermark.
